Invincible Spring

We stand on the cusp of spring, another threshold crossed. Spring, the eternal bringer of hope, a reminder that darkness is always followed by light, of the cyclical nature of all things.

Albert Camus wrote,

“My dear,
In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
I realized, through it all, that…
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.

Truly yours,
Albert Camus”

……………………………………………

I tend to think in terms of an invincible spring that lives inside of us all. We are forever in the process of navigating the cycles of life, that birth-death-rebirth nature of things. We surrender, we let go, we begin anew. I cherish the newness of beginnings, the possibility, the inherent hope. And while there are always heavy things that drag us downward, cherry blossom petals floating on the breeze and blowing across the cobblestone sidewalks remind me of the bliss of just letting go and the lightness of being that I find to be entirely, joyfully…. bearable.

Until next time…
